Our speakers were Katie McMahon and Jenny Jones from Red Bank's Lunch Break.  It was formed in 1983 as a response to the growing issue of hunger in Monmouth County.Today it is one of our County's top social service agencies, serving over 72,000 hot lunches a year, Monday through Friday, breakfast on Saturday and bagged meals for the rest of the weekend.  They deliver meals to home bound individuals and provide free food for 800 families a month.  They are unique in allowing clients to shop for their own food in their Client Choice Food Pantry.
But  they also tend to people's needs in many other ways.  Clara's Closet provides clothing, an ESL program helps the non-English speaker, Suited for Success provides people with proper clothing related to employment, and they provide holiday baskets, a community garden, and many other services aimed at fellowship.  Their goal is to provide a route to self-sufficiency and a healthier lifestyle with compassion and dignity.
