ROTARY SPOTLIGHT
Joe Tomaino
After much gentle persuasion by Richard Buckley, Joe Tomaino joined our club in May of 2019. Joe was born and raised in Long Branch by his immigrant parents from Italy.
Joe was graduated from Long Branch High School where he was on the football, wrestling and track teams. He received his Bachelor of Architecture Degree in 1969 from Penn State and was a member of Beta Theta Pi Society Fraternity. Joe was a partner in the firm of Tomaino, Tomaino and Iamello in Deal, N.J. for many years specializing in government, medical and academic architecture. Today, Joe is in private practice as a forensic consulting architect.
Currently Joe is Chairman of the Allenhurst Planning Board, member of the Amerigo Vespucci Society of Long Branch and Deal Golf and Country Club and was a trustee at St Mary’s School.
Joe met his wife Tanya at Penn State many years ago and they have daughter Kristen, a school teacher in NYC and son Michael who is a high school teacher and department head at Christian Brothers Academy. In the summer months, Michael is a lifeguard at Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park in Long Branch. Mike and wife Michelle live in Oceanport with 2 children.
Joe looks forward to our weekly meetings and has participated is many events to date.
